چکیده

Abstract Feline calicivirus (FCV), feline alphaherpesvirus 1 (FHV-1) and panleukopenia virus (FPLV) as well retroviral agents such leukaemia (FeLV) immunodeficiency (FIV) are important viral pathogens of cats. The aim this study was to detect characterise FHV-1, FPLV, FeLV, FIV foamy (FFV) in oropharyngeal, nasal conjunctival swabs from 93 cats that had been screened for FCV previously. We wanted determine the possible risk factors infection with these viruses. prevalence found be 12.9% FHV-1 9.7% FPLV. detected only two samples FeLV one sample, whereas presence FFV not demonstrated any clinical samples. statistical analysis results showed breed, age, health status, lifestyle predisposing ( P < 0.05). For clinically unhealthy animals were at 0.001). Sequence revealed FIV-positive contained different (A B) subtypes virus. This is first report on occurrence subtype A Turkey.

Molecular and clinical study on prevalence of feline herpesvirus type 1 and calicivirus in correlation with feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses

Upper respiratory tract diseases (URTD) are common clinical problem in cats worldwide. Feline calicivirus (FCV) and feline herpesvirus type 1 (FHV-1) are the main primary pathogens. Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) are also among the most common infectious diseases of cats which suppress the immunity. Oropharyngeal and conjunctival swabs and blood samples wer...

Bimolecular identification of M.ovinpeumoniae from nasal swab samples of sheep from various districts of Balochistan, Pakistan

Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae is an important respiratory pathogen of sheep across the world. In the present study nasal swab samples (n=778) were processed and 51isolates of M. ovipneumoniae were identified through biochemical tests and PCR. Difference in the isolation rate among districts (n=12), age groups (n=3), breads (n=6) was assessed. Similarly the isolate rate among healthy (n=513) and resp...

Histological and molecular characterisation of feline humeral condylar osteoarthritis

BACKGROUND Osteoarthritis (OA) is a clinically important and common disease of older cats. The pathological changes and molecular mechanisms which underpin the disease have yet to be described. In this study we evaluated selected histological and transcriptomic measures in the articular cartilage and subchondral bone (SCB) of the humeral condyle of cats with or without OA. RESULTS The histomo...
